Summary
This report presents detailed statistical tables on mortality in native jails. It gives data on reason for loss of life; decedent traits, equivalent to age, gender, and race or ethnicity; and mortality charges of inmate populations in comparison with the overall U.S. grownup inhabitants. The report is predicated on BJS’s annual Mortality in Correctional Establishments information assortment, which obtains data on individuals who died whereas within the bodily custody of native jails or state departments of corrections.
